Genesis 49:16-21

New International Version

¹⁶ “Dan^[a](A) will provide justice for his people
    as one of the tribes of Israel.^(B)
17 Dan^(C) will be a snake by the roadside,
    a viper along the path,^(D)
that bites the horse’s heels^(E)
    so that its rider tumbles backward.

¹⁸ “I look for your deliverance,^(F) Lord.^(G)

¹⁹ “Gad^[b](H) will be attacked by a band of raiders,
    but he will attack them at their heels.^(I)

²⁰ “Asher’s^(J) food will be rich;^(K)
    he will provide delicacies fit for a king.^(L)

²¹ “Naphtali^(M) is a doe set free
    that bears beautiful fawns.^[c](N)
